Il Rum “Distillery Collection N° 3 Single Pot Still” Diplomatico, realizzato in Venezuela presso la distilleria DUSA, fa parte di una pregiata gamma che propone un’edizione speciale dedicata ai puristi di quest’affascinante distillato. Si tratta di un rum realizzato con un vecchio alambicco discontinuo, rifacendosi alle più antiche consuetudini dei grandi whisky scozzesi. Viene commercializzato in edizione limitata e numerata, a garanzia di una proposta veramente esclusiva. Ricco e complesso, è un rum da degustare liscio, in modo da poterne apprezzare tutto il fascino. Il Rum “Distillery Collection N° 3 Single Pot Still” Diplomatico nasce nei pressi della cittadina di La Miel, dove ha sede la famosa Distilerias Unidas. Si tratta di una zona del Venezuela particolarmente vocata per la produzione di grandi rum. È qui che si coltiva la canna da zucchero delle migliori varietà, da cui si ricavano un succo e una melassa particolarmente densi d’aromi. Al termine della fase preparatoria di fermentazione si procede alla distillazione, che si svolge con un alambicco Pot Still, introdotto nella distilleria nel 1959. Dopo il processo di distillazione, il rum è fatto maturare in botti di rovere bianco americano fino al momento in cui non raggiunge la piena maturità aromatica e la giusta morbidezza gustativa. “Distillery Collection N° 3 Single Pot Still” Diplomatico è un Rum di alta gamma della Distilerias Unidas, che conferma il livello assoluto dei grandi distillati di questo storico marchio caraibico. Allo sguardo si presenta di un color ambra piuttosto scuro con riflessi luminosi. Il profilo olfattivo regala un bouquet caratterizzato da un’intensa eleganza e una raffinata sfaccettatura aromatica, che si esprimono attraverso un ventaglio di profumi, che ricorda la morbida dolcezza del caramello, gli aromi di vaniglia, le spezie, le scorze d’agrumi candite, la frutta rossa, le sfumature di frutta tropicale, le note di toffee, di cioccolato fondente, di cacao amaro, di caffè in chicchi appena macinato. Al palato ha un ingresso caldo e suadente, con densi aromi avvolgenti, che si distendono verso un finale lungo, armonioso e di notevole persistenza.
