This results in a pickup pattern which blends the two sets of characteristics. It has fuller and more extended low-frequency response than a cardioid, with less proximity effect, while picking up more room sound than a cardioid.@+@+The polar diagram shows the directivity of the MK 21 to be only slightly dependent on frequency. Schoeps MK 41 G Super Cardioid, Super-Cardioid Capsule@+@+The MK 41 is strongly directional. Sound arriving from off axis is attenuated even more than with a cardioid. The pickup is “drier� and less susceptible to acoustic feedback than any other SCHOEPS capsule type (a loudspeaker should not be located directly along the rear axis of the microphone, however).@+@+@+Its directivity is highly independent of frequency, so that even sounds arriving off axis and reverberant sound are registered without colouration. Consequently, even distant placement of the capsule produces a very natural sound pickup. This is a real advantage over interference-tube “shotgun� microphones, whose directivity is very frequency-dependent – exceeding that of a supercardioid only at higher frequencies. Interference-tube microphones are notoriously sensitive to their position in a room, where the shifting patterns of reflections cause corresponding shifts in sound color. Schoeps CCM 41 L, Compact Condenser Microphone@+The MK 41 and CCM 41 are highly directional: diffuse sound coming from the room is picked up by them even more attenuated than by cardioids. The sound is therefore "drier", and their susceptibility to acoustic feedback is lower than that of any other SCHOEPS microphone type, provided that a speaker does not project directly from behind.@+@+The directivity is very independent of frequency so that even obliquely incident and diffuse sound is transmitted without colouration and therefore "naturally", even at a greater distance from the sound source.
